PolicyStat Management

I am the site admin for a large public hospital group managing over 3,000 policies. Our organization is actively exploring ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our policy management system (PolicyStat). Given the complexity and volume of policies we handle, we are seeking insights into best practices and key features that could help streamline our processes.

We would greatly appreciate hearing from other organizations that have successfully navigated similar challenges. What features or best practices have proven most beneficial for your policy management?

Hi Lauren,

I’m the site admin for a regional system which consists of 2 hospitals, 2 free-standing medical facilities, 2 ASCs, 2 free-standing emergency departments, and multiple offsite locations. Along with many other hospitals/facilities within our state, we’re under the umbrella of a much larger system. To improve policy management efficiency across the entire system, the decision was made for all the facilities to migrate to PolicyStat.

Prior to migration, our regional system alone had over 5,000 policies that we have managed to condense down to just over 3,500 within 5 months and still have more to do. It’s really nice that all our regional system policies are now on the same system with corporate and sister facilities. The applicability feature definitely helps with ensuring corporate/system-wide policies are current for all facilities at the same time rather than in the past where they would be distributed by corporate and handled differently at each respective facility. The cloning feature also is a great time-saver for when there are policies used at other facilities that need to be site specific. When used correctly, the collaboration tool is quite the asset.

If you’d like to connect, please feel free to reach out by clicking on my name and sending a message through the HUB so we can exchange email addresses. I’d be happy to discuss what has been successful for us.

Thank you! I will send you a message.
